Art Tyrrell started Highland Woodcraft, originally Highland Woodworking, in 2001 as a two-person operation in a residential garage.  He saw a need in the industry and started with a mission to “focus on the small stuff”,  such as vanities and smaller cabinets that larger cabinet shops couldn’t be bothered with.  Although the operation was small, his quality was second to none.  Art focused on the details and building relationships with each customer.  Twenty years later, Highland Woodcraft has grown to a full-service custom cabinet manufacturer operating in a 11,000 sq. ft. facility in Prospect, CT. All of their woodworking is done in house from conception to fabrication using state of the art equipment such as a Homag Vantech 510 CNC router and CabinetVision CAD system. With consistent machinery upgrades and utilizing the newest and best technology, Highland Woodcraft has become consistently sought-after as one of the best manufacturers of high-end custom cabinetry in the area.  Highland’s growth can be attributed to Art’s dedication to quality, design collaboration and building long lasting relationships with his customers.  Whether a project is as large as a 10,000 sq. ft. residence, a one-of-a-kind library, or even a single bathroom vanity (we still do those!) our commitment to quality and attention to detail remains the same.
